Former Managing Director of the Climate Disclosure Standards Board (CDSB), Chair of the Oil & Gas Advisory Group at CDP and led CDP’s engagement with the Taskforce on Climate-related Financial Disclosures supporting the TCFD secretariat and corporate members in the development of the recommendations and framework.

Expert in regulatory, technical and strategic advice for companies across sectors and geographies on sustainability strategy and disclosure 
 
Informed by over 25 years’ hands-on experience in senior management & strategy roles in capital markets and in the shipping industry.  
 
A former Executive Director at the Baltic Exchange where he set up and ran its regulated subsidiary from 2009-17. He previously held high-profile roles in risk management and business development at Morgan Stanley & Chemical Bank (in London and New York) and also founded two independent financial services businesses 
 
Paul trained as a Barrister (Inner Temple), studied mathematics at Oxford and served in the Army 
 
Recent work includes advising companies on the application of the EU Taxonomy and other green finance regulations; implementation of the TCFD framework, including scenario analysis and drafting of climate-related disclosures; and developing broader corporate ESG policy and strategy aligned with international frameworks, including the UNGC 
 
Concurrently, he is a co-director of the ESG in Shipping course at Lloyd’s Maritime Academy and has advised the Climate Bonds Initiative
